Dealing With Cracked Lips

Image via Pinterest

Have you ever woken up with cracks on your lips? I did this morning.

Cracks on your lips can be indicative of low levels of B vitamins, particularly vitamin B9 (folate).
Some of the best sources of folate are green leafy vegetables like spinach, broccoli and parsley.
Apples also contain a variety of B vitamins and are my go to treatment whenever I wake up with a crack in my lip. The vitamin C in apples will also help to speed up healing time - just make sure you eat the skin too, as that's where most of the vitamins are found!

It is important to maintain hydrated as well. B vitamins are water soluble, so your body can only use them properly when enough water is present. Drinking enough water will also help to re-hydrate your skin and lips.

Rubbing a little coconut butter/oil on your lips will also help heal the crack up and add moisture.

So there you have it:
EAT green leafy vegetables and apples
DRINK plenty of water (remember - 8 glasses a day)
RUB your lips with a little coconut oil

By doing these few tricks your lips should heal up within 1 or 2 days.
