Nails

Every female I know wants to have beautiful, strong and healthy nails, and you don't need fake ones to get them!

Here are a few nutrients that are important for your nails:

1. Vitamin C and Zinc
Found in oranges, capsicums and greens, vitamin C is not only important for nice looking nails, but also for nice skin around the nails. Same goes for zinc, which is found in sunflower and pumpkin seeds.

2. Essential Fatty Acids
You know those little skin-tag things you get on the side of your nails and you convince yourself that you can just pull it off and that will be the end of it, but it ends up ripping a big line all the way down your finger? Try taking fish oil tablets to stop them from appearing, and instead of pulling on them if they do appear, cut them with nail clippers

3. Iron
Low iron can lead to splitting or lines in your nails. Boost your iron levels with chicken, red meat, goji berries and greens

4. Silicon
Silicon always makes me think of cucumber, and is important for connective tissues (think bones, cartilage, skin, etc.). It is also found in capsicum and wholegrain cereals.
