He Just Wanted To Say Hey

This afternoon I was driving home from work when I noticed two kookaburras perched up on a light pole together. I immediately felt God's presence and smiled, then continued driving.
Two minutes down the road, again, another pair of birds were resting atop of a light pole. Another smile, another thankful thought to God for His creation and for creating two times on my drive home to pause and enjoy the moment.
But then two minutes after that there was another light pole. This time one with a double-arm so lights are over both sides of the road, and sitting on top of it were two pairs of birds, one on each arm, and I said, "Okay God, what are you trying to tell me? What kind of message are you trying to convey with these birds?"
And immediately He replied and said, "I just wanted to say hey."
I was a little taken back... "Oh, ok. Hi."
And then I realised I hadn't really spoken to God today. Even my morning devotions were a bit rushed this morning so I didn't spend the extra few seconds to say, "Thanks for my devotion this morning God."
It's so beautiful to know that even when we forget to make time to speak to God, He is still there checking up on us, wanting to say hey.
